About Ji

Ji Zhang specializes in international tax and commerce. A native Mandarin speaker, Mr. Zhang takes a particular interest in the solar energy power industry, Chinese-U.S. cross-border tax issues, and U.S. international tax issues involving U.S. controlled foreign corporations, mergers and acquisitions and U.S.investment in China.

Mr. Zhang, who joined Flott & Co. in October 2010, works on international shipping tax matters, including the firm’s current regulatory litigation with the Internal Revenue Service; cross-border transactions, specifically US inbound investments and related US tax compliance issues.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zhang performed internal audit and financial statement preparation for a manufacturing company in Ohio.  During law school, he was a legal intern in the taxation section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.  He also did pro bono tax and legal work on behalf of Lincoln Square Legal Service.

Mr. Zhang received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law in May 2010 and his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in accounting cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2005.  He was admitted to practice in New York in 2010.  He is a member of the tax section of the American Bar Association.  Mr. Zhang has satisfied the requirement for licensing as a Certified Public Accounting in Ohio.
